"Getting Unstuck": The Young Adult Cognitive Impasse

A Hope-Focused Intentional Change Model®

70%students change their majors after enrollment at least once before graduation (Princetonian 2014).
36% of full-time students complete their bachelor's degree in 4-years (NY Times, 2014).
50% of students pursue a career unrelated to their major (Forbes, 2013).
35k is the average debt of college graduates (Wall Street Journal, 2015).
Problem:
The pressure to succeed can be overwhelming – there’s school work, extracurricular activities, internships and you are expected to have your future figured out before you graduate. Whether you in high school or in college navigating your future is stressful, if you have finished college and are still confused about your direction in life know you are not alone! Your hope is not to settle for just some job, you want to find a career that you will love, where you will flourish, and feel proud of your contribution. You don't want to get lost of this journey and lose hope. So, how do you navigate that pathway? What is the solution?

Solution:
Our Hope-Focused Intentional Change Model ® uses a proprietary subjective Adler narrative that uncovers interests, passions, value sets, all of which elicit themes, and an objective scientifically validated assessment that reveal ability patterns, which may be integrated to converge in a congruent process leading to clarity of purpose. Using your results from these sophisticated assessment instruments, we work with you one-on-one and in group workshops through a program tailored specifically to fit your needs. In this process, you have a rare opportunity to become the architect of your career path, and engage in reconstructing the above foundational elements in a framework that allows for taking ownership of vocational pursuits that reflect your uniqueness.

                                                                                         Attitude-> Emotions-> Behavior

Hope is found through discovery of your giftedness and an understanding "how" these gifts may be shared in endeavors that matter. This alters your attitude, impacts "how" using your gifts offers a positive emotional response, which inspires the relevance of learning  and adopts behavior that drives exploration and cultivation of these gifts. Developmentally, it creates  a new perspective on "why" education is a catalyst to change, a scaffolding to prepare for your career vision, and an awakening of the meaning or purpose of that pathway.

Our Unique Approach: Assessment Convergence
One of the most common questions when meeting someone is, "So...what do you do?" Whether we like it or not, we tend not  to be defined by our passions or values but instead by our major or job title. So, when we stop and think about it...

"Do our career paths really engage our interests, passions and                    natural abilities or do we leave a part of ourselves back at home?"

"Do we have the clarity as to who we really are and what makes                us unique or is our identity just a distorted reflection of                               vocational pursuits and our meeting the expectations others
have assigned for us?"

Students want an
objective method to know and understand "what" their inborn talents are and "how" those abilities can be used to support and build a meaningful career they will love. They also want a subjective understanding of "why" academic pursuits are worth the effort, an  authentication that reflects a distinctive sense of themselves.

CCI guides students through both an
objective and subjective inquiry, to construct their own pathway, understanding themselves and how they fit into a career path through a process that reveals their vocational identity. This integrates:

  • Narratives: Self-reflection to “know yourself.”
  • Interests: Discovering “why” interests are a reflection of “who you are.”
  • Abilities: Understanding “how” your inborn talents support careers.
  • Career Pathways: Planning your pathway to prepare for careers of interest.
